Today was the first day of Spring.
Beautiful day for finishing up the
fiberglassing!   Yeah!
This week has been all about the proper
dry fit and then wetting the cloth with just
the right mix of epoxy and resin - Bruce
used a 50/50 mix of Hard and Slow drying.  Gave us a little more time to fool around...with the resin.   Then there's the rolling, the squeegy-ing and the painting.   If you work really quick and don't screw it up ... it comes out pretty good.
The weather has been a major factor.  We started out in the garage because it was cold and rainy.  Had to leave a heater on all night to help cure it.  3 days later we're out in the driveway in the sun and the resin mix is literally smoking!!  Back in the garage.
And then there's the sanding.  A new respirator and a cute little astronaut jumpsuit and Bruce becomes a sanding fool.  OK, well maybe just a sanding tolerator.  The important thing now is...
The boat she be glassed!  And that means only 1 thing.    Sanding.
And more sanding.
But it also means we're that much closer to the water!
